Meet Olivia Talbott…
Olivia was referred to us by her brother (Grant) the week that CrossFit 926 opened. She came in wanting to try out CrossFit and purchased a punch card. She progressed VERY quickly and picked up on things very easily. Since then, Olivia has become a huge part of the CrossFit 926 family by not only giving her all during class but by helping out with child care and by participating in our community events! Keep up the awesome work Olivia, make sure to give her a high five next time you see her!
As part of being Athlete of the Month, we asked Olivia a few questions to get to know here a little more, below are her answers:
1. Where are you from?
Lewisburg, WV
2. What do you do for a living?
I am a financial advisor for Merrill Lynch
3. What are your favorite hobbies?
Anything that keeps me active! I love being outside on the water in the summer and skiing in the winters.
4. What is your athletic background?
I grew up playing any sport that I could get my hands on. But throughout high school, I narrowed it down to basketball and volleyball.
5. What made you choose CrossFit 926?
I chose crossfit 926 on a total whim, and gained more than I ever imagined. Being new to crossfit and North Carolina, I just wanted to find ways to get involved. From the moment I walked into 926, I have felt so welcomed and apart of something much larger than just your average gym. Crossfit can be intimidating, but I have never once felt like unsupported thanks to the awesome coaching and members that are always behind one another.
6. What is your favorite movement that we do here at CrossFit 926?
The gymnastics aspect has been so much fun for me to work on because there’s always a new challenge that brings me out of my comfort zone. Handstand push-ups have been an absolute blast for me to learn these past few months.
7. What is your favorite thing about CrossFit 926?
Definitely the community. Every day I walk in and know that I am about to go through a rough workout, but the fact that we’re all in it together pushing each other to be better is so incredible. Everyone genuinely supports one another, what more could you want in a gym?
8. What advice would you give a new-comer to CrossFit 926?
Don’t be afraid to try something new, the only way to grow and see change is to get out of your comfort zone.
